George Patterson

George Pattison has a special interest in the interface between religion and the arts.
He is Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity at the University of Oxford. He is also Vice-President of the Modern Churchpeople’s Union. He has written widely on modern theology, including the books Art, Modernity and Faith and Thinking about God in an Age of Technology. His work on theology and art also includes several Radio series, and lectures at the National Gallery, Tate Britain, the Tate Modern and other major art institutions.
After 13 years as a parish priest, he was Dean of Chapel at King's College, Cambridge from 1991- 2001, and lectured at the University of Aarhus (Denmark) prior to going to Oxford.
